INJURIES REPORTED AFTER VEHICLE HITS EMBANKMENT IN ROANE COUNTY

Three individuals sustained injuries Friday in a two-vehicle crash in Roane County.
In the report released today, the Tennessee Highway Patrol says a 2016 Chevy Equinox driven by 71-year-old Jerry Wright swerved to prevent rear-ending a 2019 Mercedes operated by 43-year-old Melissa Goedeke on Roane State Highway.
Wright failed to brake properly and could not avoid the collision.
The Mercedes left the road and struck an earth embankment.
The Chevy overturned and came to rest on its side.
Troopers say both drivers sustained injuries in the crash.
The report states a passenger with Wright, 35-year-old Lindy Mann, was hurt.
