Firefighters in Roane County responded to a house blaze today on Skyline View Drive off Sugar Grove Valley Road east of Kingston.

Authorities say a male subject believed to be between 50 and 60 years of age was found inside the rubble of the home.

The body was taken to the Forensics Center in Knoxville by Roane Rescue Squad personnel for an autopsy.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Fire officials want to remind residents to make sure smoke detectors are working. If space heaters are needed, carefully place them away from any object that could catch fire.
