MAN NARROWLY AVOIDS RUNWAWAY SAWBLADE NEXT TO OREGON CONSTRUCTION SITE

Law enforcement says an Oregon man narrowly avoided being hit by a massive concrete sawblade that came loose from a nearby construction site and came towards him.

Shane Reimche barely got out of the way of an incoming 4-foot concrete sawblade from a nearby construction site. It slammed into the wall of Quicktrip Neighborhood Market in Eugene, Oregon just seconds after Reimche walked in.

Video shows the blade violently spinning toward the store, slipping between parked cars, and scraping the parking lot before finally slamming into the store’s wall, inches away from the door.

A traffic contractor who witnessed the incident says a loose bolt and possible operator error may have caused the sawblade to come loose and spin away at high speeds.

Northwest Natural said a contractor at their site is responsible. They’ve removed the contractor from the work site while they review the incident.
