SEVERE WEATHER EXPECTED TUESDAY APRIL 2, 2024

The National Weather Service says all modes of severe weather are possible today (Tuesday, April 2, 2024). It includes large hail, damaging winds of 60 miles an hour or greater, a few tornadoes, and cloud-to-ground lightning.

Storms will develop this morning in West Tennessee. A line of strong to severe thunderstorms will come together and move across the Mid State through the late morning and afternoon.

The line of storms will approach the Cumberland Plateau anytime between 2 and 6 p.m. today.

The severe weather event should end for our listening area around 7 to 8 p.m. tonight.

These storms will be moving fast, so keep your guard up today and be ready to take action if you receive a warning. Have multiple ways to receive warnings and know exactly where to go in the event you need to seek shelter.

Stay tuned to 105.7 The Hog for live warning updates and tracking of the storms in our area. Also, check with 3bmedianews.com for any watches or warnings issued by the National Weather Service.

In Cumberland County, Crab Orchard Church of God of Prophecy will open starting at 1 p.m. as an emergency storm shelter and provide a warm meal for those seeking shelter.
