On May 23, the Cumberland County Board of Education made actions concerning the sale of property on Genesis Rd. which was rescinded this week after instruction from Earl Patton, the board’s legal representative.

Patton determined that, under the Financial Management Act of 1981, negotiations regarding sales have to be done by the finance director, not the board.

A motion was made to rescind the action and was approved unanimously.

A representative with the Cumberland County School Board said she doesn’t know if the property will be put back on the agenda anytime soon.
