Cumberland County Assessor of Property Sandy Gilbert recently announced her retirement from the position and plans to get involved in volunteer work after retiring.

A retirement party with refreshments is set for August 28 at 2 p.m. at the Assessor of Property’s Office at 2 S. Main St. in Crossville.

Gilbert said serving Cumberland County for 34 years has been an honor.

Kelli Tipton Buchannon who defeated Gilbert in the Republican Primary held back on March 5th will take over as Cumberland County Assessor of Property on September 1st.
