KPD STEPS UP TRAFFIC ENFORCEMENT FOR LABOR DAY WEEKEND

Knoxville Police are looking into an alleged shootout that took place at the El Patron Event Center at the Knoxville Center Mall early Monday morning. KPD received multiple calls about gunfire in the parking lot around 3:09 AM. According to witnesses at the scene, several individuals began shooting weapons in the parking lot. Authorities recovered approximately twenty shell casings from different locations in the parking lot. No victims have been located at this time.

Knoxville Police Department officers will be conducting high-visibility traffic enforcement on major thoroughfares throughout Knoxville all this weekend and Labor Day.
Officers will focus their efforts on addressing reckless and careless driving as part of an ongoing effort to keep the roads safe and prevent harmful crashes.
The Labor Day holiday is an especially busy travel weekend all across the country, and traffic is expected to be heavier than normal here locally.
