KINGSTON WATER AND SEWER SAYS HELENE FLOOD WATERS REACHED ROANE COUNTY

Kingston Water and Sewer issued the following statement today:
“As you may have seen, muddy water on the Tennessee River from the flooding resulting from Hurricane Helene has finally reached Kingston.
While this has certainly altered our treatment procedures (and will continue to do so until this subsides) we want to stress that our water supply and the quality of our finished water have not been impacted.
As of now, all of the Dams upstream on the Tennessee are spilling and the muddy conditions will persist until they stop. We’ll keep monitoring the situation and our outstanding water treatment staff will be working diligently to ensure that our customers continue to receive the very highest levels of water quality.
Our thoughts and prayers remain with all of those affected by this horrible storm.”
