THREE WOMEN ARRESTED WITH DRUG PARAPHENELIA AT CHESTNUT HILL

On Nov. 11th, Deputy Jacob Moore of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by Deputy Morgan Alvarez and given possible information about the selling of illegal narcotics that stated that a woman named April Evangeline Hartt was selling illegal narcotics.

On Nov. 15th, Moore was on patrol in the Chestnut Hill Road area when he noticed a black Ford Focus parked in Hartt’s driveway. As the deputy ran the plate through dispatch, he observed the vehicle back out of the driveway and head northeast on Chestnut Hill Road.

While catching up to the vehicle, the deputy saw the tail light was covered with red tape. Moore conducted a traffic stop on the Ford at Chestnut Hill Road where he made contact with the driver. During this traffic stop, Moore learned that the driver and passenger had purchased illegal narcotics such as “clear” or Methamphetamine from Hartt. The driver also explained that two days ago she smoked
Methamphetamine at Hartt’s house.

After the conversation, Moore asked to read the driver’s messages with Hartt and was able to observe several messages showing the driver had purchased illegal narcotics from Hartt on several different occasions.

On Nov. 17th, Deputy Moore was granted a search warrant for Hartt’s house on Chestnut Hill Road.

On Nov. 18th Moore spoke with K9 Deputy Blake Richardson who said he conducted a traffic stop on a man who admitted he had dumped Methamphetamine inside of a drink in his vehicle. The man then admitted that he had purchased the narcotics from Hartt.

After lying at first, he then admitted to buying the methamphetamine from Hartt at her residence in Crab Orchard.

On Nov. 20th, Lieutenant James Scott (CCSO), Sergeant Dustin Jackson (CCSO), Investigator Lucas Turner (CCSO), Investigator Mitchell Ward (CCSO), Investigator Jon Wirey (CCSO), Corporal Ryan Ashburn (CCSO), Deputy Devyne Templeton (CCSO), Deputy Morgan Alvarez (CCSO), Two training Deputies, and K9 Lieutenant Jonathan O’neal (CPD) executed a search warrant at Hartt’s home on Chestnut Hill Road.

Deputies forced entry into the residence and ultimately found that Hartt was not at the residence. However, they instead found two other females, identified as Kailey Abney and Korena Martin.

While speaking with the two, the deputies learned that Hartt had left the residence and was supposed to be going to the store. Deputies searched the residence and found a large amount of narcotics paraphernalia spread throughout the house.

The paraphernalia included aluminum foil, altered plastic straws, hypodermic syringes, baggies, digital scales, and one needle that appeared to have a substance still drawn in it.

The paraphernalia was seized Martin and Abney were both cited for possession of narcotics paraphernalia. Shortly after, Deputy Morgan Alvarez located and arrested Hartt at a different location on Chestnut Hill Rd. She was taken into custody and transported to the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office where she was served with a warrant for Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia.

Hartt was given an O/R Bond for her Possession of Narcotics Paraphernalia charge, with an initial court date of  Dec. 12th. All paraphernalia was photographed on scene and destroyed at the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.

Martin and Abney were also charged with possession of drug paraphenelia.
