MAN INJURED IN IMPACT WITH DEER

A 2024 Toyota Tacoma driven by 62-year-old Gary Ray Cox was traveling north on Highway 68 yesterday at around noon when he came over the crest of a hill to find a deer standing in the roadway.
Cox hit the brakes but was unable to stop in time, impacting the deer with the front end of the vehicle causing disabling damage. Each airbag in the vehicle was deployed.
The Tacoma was able to come to a controlled stop on the right shoulder, and Cox, who had sustained injuries from the impact, waited for EMS and law enforcement to arrive.
