According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, On Tuesday last week at around 7:45 p.m. a 2009 Kia Optima driven by Eddie Gossett was traveling west on State Route 68 in Cumberland County when it began to negotiate a left curve. The vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway into a ditch and struck a sign.

It then continued along the ditch down into an embankment where it struck a tree head-on and came to a final rest.

Gossett would sustain injuries, and would also be charged with driving under the influence and failing to maintain lane of travel.
