CUMBERLAND WOMAN POSSIBLY VICTIM OF THEFT UP TO $75,000

According to a report by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, On March 28, 2025, Deputy Jessica McCoy spoke with a woman over the phone regarding a possible jewelry theft. The woman reported that in September 2024, she had given jewelry valued between $50,000 and $75,000 to the owner of Platinum Jewelers in Nashville, TN, for a “sale to consignment” transaction.
She had previously done business with him successfully, which made her comfortable with this arrangement. He verbally promised to provide a list of the items he took, but the woman never received it. After losing contact with him and learning his business had shut down, she attempted to reach him through a number provided by another jewelry store.
At the time of the report, the woman did not have an itemized list of the jewelry but planned to create one and update law enforcement. She requested that a report be filed to document the incident.
