MAN ARRESTED AFTER ASSAULTING TWO AND RUNNING TO HIDE IN WOODS

On Friday, Deputy Holden Atkinson responded to a domestic violence incident on Clifty Rd. Upon arrival, he encountered a distraught female victim who reported that her boyfriend, Tyler Elliott, had physically assaulted her, resulting in a noticeable injury above her right eye. Another individual present at the scene confirmed he was also struck by Tyler while attempting to intervene, displaying a bloody lip as evidence. The victim’s friend reported that Tyler had damaged her vehicle by breaking the rear passenger window in an attempt to reach the victim after she sought refuge in the car.
Deputy Atkinson, along with Deputy Charles and Sgt. Seiber, located Tyler Elliott at the Clifty River, where he was found hiding in the woods. Tyler complied with orders to emerge and was taken into custody due to reports of him possessing a knife and his visible bloody knuckles, which corroborated the accounts of the altercation. Tyler admitted to fighting with the two individuals. Based on witness statements and physical evidence, he was deemed the primary aggressor and transported to Cumberland County jail for booking.
The female victim was taken to CMC for medical attention, where Deputy Atkinson provided her with information about Avalon services, a hotline number, and assisted her in completing a voluntary statement and Domestic Violence Lethality form. She intended to contact the Avalon center following their conversation. The other witness and the vehicle owner also provided voluntary statements. Bond conditions were issued to both the victim and Tyler Elliott.
