On April 17, 2025, at 4:23 AM, a crash involving three vehicles occurred on SR 68 at Loden Road in Cumberland County, Tennessee.

A 2024 Ford Edge driven by Carrie Jean Gentry (47, TN), with passenger Edford Boone Gentry (59, TN), was traveling south and attempted to pass a 2016 Peterbilt semi-tractor driven by David Allen Holt (56, TN), on a double yellow line.

At the same time, a 2017 Kenworth semi-tractor driven by Devon Hood Johnson (38, TN) was traveling north.

Gentry entered Johnson’s lane, causing him to swerve into a ditch to avoid a collision, but still impacted Gentry’s left side fuel tank. Gentry’s Ford Edge then spun, struck Holt’s trailer, slid under Johnson’s trailer, and came to rest.

Johnson’s Kenworth stopped in the ditch, and Holt’s Peterbilt stopped 20 yards from the impact.

All occupants wore seatbelts. Carrie Gentry, Edford Gentry, and Devon Johnson were injured; David Holt was not.

No charges were filed, and the investigation is ongoing. Holt’s trailer was damaged, spilling its contents.
