MULTIPLE CRASHES ON I-40 AND I-75

Quite a hectic start to the Memorial Weekend, huh? On the morning of May 23, 2025, several traffic incidents were reported across Tennessee highways, causing varying degrees of disruption.

At 8:08 AM CDT, a multi-vehicle crash occurred on Interstate 75 Southbound in Bradley County at mile marker 19.6. This incident has resulted in significant congestion, as the left lane of the two available southbound lanes and the left shoulder are blocked, likely slowing traffic considerably in the area.

Just a few minutes earlier, at 8:01 AM CDT, a single-vehicle crash was reported on Interstate 75 Southbound in McMinn County at mile marker 53.6. Fortunately, this incident has not caused any lane blockages, allowing traffic to continue flowing without major delays, and the Tennessee Highway Patrol (THP) is on the scene managing the situation.

Additionally, at 8:05 AM CDT, another single-vehicle crash took place on Interstate 40 Eastbound in Cumberland County at mile marker 328 near Crab Orchard. Similar to the McMinn County incident, no lanes are blocked, and the THP is responding, suggesting minimal impact on traffic flow.

These reports, provided by the Tennessee Highway Patrol, highlight a busy morning for emergency responders as they address these incidents across the state’s highways. Motorists in the affected areas, particularly on I-75 Southbound in Bradley County, are advised to exercise caution and anticipate potential delays.
