SPEAKER SEXTON SPEAKS OUT ABOUT RECENT NASHVILLE MAYOR’S DOXXING ALLEGATIONS

Today, Tennessee House Speaker Cameron Sexton addressed allegations that Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell’s office doxxed federal ICE and DHS agents by mistakenly releasing their names in a report on Metro Nashville’s “Immigration Interactions” webpage.

From Cameron Sexton:

“It is reckless, irresponsible and against the law for anyone to dox federal agents and law enforcement. We must get to the bottom of how this happened. I am asking Freddie O’Connell, Mayor of Metropolitan Nashville & Davidson County and Metro government to explain how and why this happened, who approved this and whether Metro legal also signed off or voiced any opposition to the release of the agents’ names. Tennessee law bans sanctuary cities and harboring illegal immigrants. Any violation puts the city at risk of losing state-shared tax dollars.”

Sexton references a new Tennessee law banning sanctuary cities and aiding illegal immigrants, suggesting Nashville’s actions could violate this law and risk losing state funding. The controversy stems from Nashville’s response to ICE operations, which arrested 196 immigrants, and O’Connell’s policies, including support for a fund aiding immigrant families, which critics argue obstructs federal enforcement.
