On June 26, Rockwood Electric Utility reported power outages affecting multiple areas, including Westel Loop, Catoosa Ridge Rd., Eblen Gap, Smith Mountain Rd., Black Hollow, Rolling Acres, Mountain View, Smokey Run, and Black Creek. The total number of homes that were affected is not known.

The outages began around 7 p.m. due to trees falling across power lines. REU crews worked through the night and successfully restored power by approximately 8 a.m. the following morning.

The utility expressed gratitude for customers’ patience and emphasized their commitment to safely restoring power as quickly as possible while urging residents to stay safe and check for further updates.
