From the Monroe County Sheriff’s Office:

On Monday afternoon, June 20, two suspects were charged and transported to the Monroe County Justice Center following a lengthy investigation into the illegal distribution of Fentanyl.

The investigation led detectives to a residence in the Old Mill Road of the Tellico Plains community.

Investigators executed a warrant which led to the discovery of approximately 5 grams of the deadly drug Fentanyl. Along with the Fentanyl, Investigators also discovered a 9mm handgun and other drug paraphernalia often used in the aid of illegal drug distribution.

The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office remains dedicated to the “War on Drugs” and will continue to work diligently to rid the Monroe County community of illicit drugs and bring those who
distribute them to justice.
