On July 24, 2025, Winston Products announced a recall of approximately 3.6 million HydroTech 5/8-inch Expandable Burst-Proof Hoses due to a risk of the hoses bursting, which poses an impact hazard and potential for temporarily impaired hearing. The recalled hoses, manufactured on or before August 31, 2024, were sold in lengths of 25, 50, 60, 75, 100, and 200 feet in various colors, including blue, green, orange, yellow, red, and gray, with specific date code markings indicating inclusion in the recall.

Consumers are urged to immediately stop using these hoses and seek a full refund by returning them to Ace Hardware, Do It Best, Home Depot, or Walmart, or by cutting off the regulator-end and submitting photos to Winston Products for a refund if purchased elsewhere. The company has reported 222 incidents of bursting hoses, resulting in 29 injuries, including a bone bruise, two sprains, and five cases of temporarily impaired hearing.
