LOCAL NONPROFIT RECEIVES $100K FROM GENERAL ASSEMBLY

In July 2025, the Serve Strong: Corban Scott Goad Memorial Foundation in Crossville, Tennessee, received a significant $100,000 grant from the Tennessee General Assembly, administered by the Tennessee Department of Health. This funding will enable the nonprofit, established in memory of Corban Scott Goad, a former Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office employee, to expand its support for first responders, particularly EMS personnel.
The grant will enhance programs focused on education, awareness, mental health, resiliency, and provide essential tools and training resources. Foundation President Chester Goad expressed gratitude for the state’s support, highlighting the opportunity to further honor Corban’s legacy through initiatives like the “Sleep Strong” program, which provides beds and mattresses, and the “Home Away from Home” program, offering comfort items such as appliances and furniture.
The Foundation also supports scholarships for professional development, continuing its mission to care for those who serve communities across the Upper Cumberland. For more details or to get involved, visit www.servestrong.us or follow the Foundation on social media.
