MAN BECOMES AGGRESSIVE AFTER PUBLIC INTOXICATION ARREST

According to a report by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, on September 6, 2025, at approximately 7:11 PM, Deputies Tyler Leary and Richardson responded to an incident on POW Camp Rd in Crossville involving David Lamon Cobb, a 56-year-old white male, and an accompanying woman. Deputy Leary observed that Cobb exhibited signs of intoxication, including the odor of alcohol, slurred speech, and unsteady balance.

Cobb became confrontational, displaying aggressive behavior by stepping toward the deputy and clenching his fists. For safety, Deputy Leary placed Cobb in handcuffs, but Cobb continued to act disruptively, yelling, pulling away, spitting, and banging his head against the patrol vehicle’s divider during transport.

Cobb yelled, “I am drunk,” and continued to hit his head into the plastic divider of the patrol vehicle during the transport to Cumberland County Intake, where he was booked for public intoxication.

The report says he remained confrontational with correctional officers at intake, but to what extent was not disclosed in the report.
