SCAMMERS IMPERSONATE FENTRESS COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE

The Fentress County Sheriff’s Office has been made aware of a scam in which callers are using our name, and sometimes the name of the Clerk’s Office to threaten residents with arrest warrants unless they make immediate payments over the phone.
Important Reminders:The Sheriff’s Office or Clerk’s Office will never call and demand payment over the phone for warrants, fines, or missed jury duty.
If you receive a call like this, do not give out personal or financial information.
Hang up and call the Fentress County Sheriff’s Office directly at 931-879-8142 to verify any claim.
Please share this information with friends, family, and neighbors especially those who may be more vulnerable to these scams. Together, we can help prevent someone from becoming a victim.
