TOYOTA AND HYUNDAI RECALL 1.1 MILLION VEHICLES FOR COMPUTER PROBLEMS

U.S. auto regulators announced that Toyota and Hyundai are recalling a combined 1.1 million vehicles due to distinct safety issues. Toyota is recalling 591,377 vehicles, including models like the 2023-2024 Venza, RAV 4, and Lexus TX, because of a potential instrument panel display failure that could prevent drivers from seeing critical information such as speed, brake system warnings, and tire pressure alerts, increasing the risk of crashes and injuries.

Toyota dealers will update the software for non-plug-in hybrids or replace the panel display for plug-in hybrids at no cost. Owners can contact Toyota at 1-800-331-4331 for more information, using recall numbers 25TB08, 25TA08, 25LB05, or 25LA05.

Meanwhile, Hyundai is recalling 568,580 Palisade SUVs due to faulty seat belt buckles that may fail to latch, potentially leaving passengers unrestrained during a crash and heightening injury risks. Hyundai advises passengers to firmly secure seat belts until dealers can inspect and, if needed, replace the buckle assemblies free of charge.

Owners can reach Hyundai at 1-855-371-9460, referencing recall number 283, and check their vehicle’s status using the VIN on NHTSA.gov.
