ROCKWOOD MAN’S HOME BURGLARIZED BY HIS SON

On September 19, 2025, at approximately 9:16 PM, the Rockwood City Police Department responded to a breaking and entering report at 160 Country Club Rd, Rockwood, TN. Officer P. Garrett arrived and learned from the homeowner that their son, Christopher Russell, had forcibly entered the residence through the back door, causing $1,000 in damage.

A gun safe in the basement was pried open, valued at $500 in damage, and several items were stolen, including a Smith & Wesson 9mm pistol (serial number RAU1806, valued at $600) and two cans of ammunition (9mm and .380, valued at $1,200). Five firearms were found on the back porch, but the stolen pistol and ammo cans were missing. Prior to the call, Chief K. Pittman reported a red Nissan Titan driving without headlights on Country Club Rd. Sergeant Campbell stopped the vehicle, driven by Richard Garza, with Christopher Russell and Mikka Colvin as passengers.

Christopher was seen running from the residence toward the vehicle.

A BOLO was issued, and Flock cameras detected the vehicle in Lenoir City. Lenoir City Police detained the three suspects at a Walmart on Highway 321. Christopher admitted to breaking into the residence and moving firearms to the porch but denied taking the stolen pistol. Garza confessed to acting as a lookout. The suspects were transported to the Rockwood Police Department and then to Roane County Jail.

The case involves charges of burglary, vandalism, theft of property, and conspiracy, with the investigation ongoing.
