ACCESS TO CATOOSA WILDLIFE AREA TO BE IMPACTED BY GENESIS ROAD WORK

CROSSVILLE — The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency (TWRA) Catoosa Wildlife Management Area (WMA) will be impacted by road construction and closures currently taking place on Genesis Highway (State Route 298). Current road construction will likely impact hunters utilizing the Genesis Campground.

The Genesis Road closure is expected through the end of October for a road repair project south of Adam’s Bridge over the Obed River (36.05354, -84.96772). The best access for hunters utilizing the Genesis Campground on Catoosa WMA during October hunts will be via I40 Exit 317 to US 127N to Potato Farm Road, or from HWY 62 to Genesis Road South. As always, Catoosa WMA will be closed to public traffic during the scheduled big game hunts, and thru traffic will not be permitted.

The Tennessee Wildlife Resources Agency is responsible for protecting, managing, and conserving fish and wildlife species for the benefit of Tennesseans and visitors. The Agency also maintains public safety through law enforcement and safety education on waterways.
