CUMBERLAND HEALTH DEPARTMENT TO OFFER FREE FLU SHOTS ON OCT. 21ST

The Crossville Chronicle reports the Cumberland County Health Department will be offering free flu shots on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, from 8 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. at their facility located at 1503 S. Main St., as part of Tennessee’s 2025 Fight Flu prevention campaign.
Sydney Fritz, the County Director, emphasizes that annual flu vaccinations are the most effective way to protect against severe flu outcomes, highlighting their safety and efficacy in preventing the spread of the virus.
The event is open to anyone aged 6 months and older, with no appointments necessary. The flu virus, which spreads through respiratory droplets and can linger on surfaces like doorknobs for up to two days, poses the greatest risk to pregnant women, infants, the elderly, and those with chronic conditions.
Symptoms range from mild to severe and may include cough, fever, fatigue, and body aches. Preventive measures include proper handwashing, covering coughs and sneezes, and staying home when ill. The Tennessee Department of Health aims to protect and improve the well-being of all Tennesseans.
