CRASH ON HIGHLAND LANE IN CROSSVILLE

On October 4, 2025, at 9:43 PM, a single-vehicle crash occurred on Highland Lane in Cumberland County, Tennessee, outside city limits, investigated by Deputy Breanna Freeman of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office.
The driver, 58-year-old Gregory Mark McCarthy of Crossville, was operating his 2021 black Chevrolet Silverado pickup northbound when it veered 200 feet west off the roadway, and came to rest in gravel at a private residence.
McCarthy, sustained injuries and was transported by ground EMS to a hospital. Officers determined he was under the influence of alcohol, with a BAC of 0.269 from a granted blood search; no drug use was reported.
The two-lane asphalt roadway was dry, clear, and level with no traffic controls or hazards, under dark-unknown lighting conditions. The vehicle sustained front-end damage, was towed, and caused over-threshold damage to a hydraulic gate on private property.
No other vehicles, occupants, fatalities, or secondary crashes were involved.
