OAK RIDGE WOMAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY FILING FALSE RAPE CHARGES ON OFFICER

Clinton, Tennessee – Following an investigation into an allegation of Rape made by an individual against an Oak Ridge Police Department Officer has resulted in the arrest of Rebecca N. Bowman, age 49, for Filing a False Report which is a Class D Felony.
In response to the complaint, Oak Ridge Police Department reached out to General Clark. In consultation with ORPD Chief Smith and Sheriff Barker, Clark arranged for the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office to investigate the allegation to eliminate any perception of conflict or bias.
Upon completion of the investigation and review of the evidence, the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office obtained a warrant for the arrest of Bowman, and she has since been arrested. Bowman is currently being held in the Anderson County Detention Facility and is set to appear in Court on October 22, 2025 for Arraignment. The warrant is public record and is available through the clerk’s office.
Anderson County Sheriff Russell Barker said, “it is important to maintain public confidence in law enforcement and as a result we both hold ourselves accountable and citizens who make reports.”
