RIDGELINE EXPANSION PROJECT PIPELINE CONSTRUCTION TO BEGIN NOVEMBER 2025

East Tennessee Natural Gas, a subsidiary of Enbridge, will soon begin construction on the 122-mile Ridgeline Expansion Project pipeline through the Upper Cumberland, following approval from the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on October 7, 2025. Construction is slated to start on November 1, 2025, with pre-construction activities already underway since October 20.
The pipeline, which will supply natural gas to the Tennessee Valley Authority’s new Kingston Energy Complex, spans multiple counties, including Trousdale, Smith, Jackson, Overton, Putnam, Fentress, Morgan, and Roane. The project will be built in two phases: the first from Roane to Putnam County starting November 1, and the second from Putnam to Trousdale County beginning December 1.
Initiated in 2021 after the Tennessee Valley Authority filed a notice of intent, the project underwent public meetings and a FERC application process starting in 2023, culminating in the recent approval. The pipeline is expected to be completed by Spring 2027.
