ACCIDENT ON VANDEVER AND BLAYLOCK ROAD RESULTS IN D.U.I. ARREST

A report by the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office says that on October 27, 2025, at approximately 8:07 PM, Deputy Shawn Aytes of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle accident at the intersection of Vandever Road and Blaylock Road in Cumberland County.
The driver, 46-year-old Christa Lynn Marshall of Crossville, exhibited signs of impairment, including slurred speech, unsteadiness, and inconsistent statements. Marshall admitted to consuming a vodka mixed drink within 30 minutes before driving.
During a Horizontal Gaze Nystagmus test, she displayed multiple indicators of intoxication and refused further sobriety tests. She was arrested on view for Driving Under the Influence at 8:36 PM. Investigation revealed Marshall failed to stop at a stop sign, striking a large field gate.
A search warrant was obtained and executed at 9:45 PM at the Cumberland County Jail, where two vials of her blood were drawn and secured as evidence for TBI testing. Her vehicle was towed, and she was booked with a $3,000 bond and a court date of December 1, 2025.
