DETAILS ON TWO ACCIDENTS IN ROANE COUNTY
Last Friday afternoon around 5:30, a car ended up on its roof after a collision at the main intersection into the Rockwood Walmart on Highway 27. The accident restricted both northbound and southbound lanes. One person was reportedly taken to the hospital, possibly by LifeStar, which landed at the Harriman helipad near the old hospital. We are awaiting the official police report from Rockwood PD and will provide more details as they become available.
Old Airport Road was restricted near the top of the mountain, where the traffic signal directs vehicles into one lane, after a vehicle allegedly ran off the roadway overnight and was retrieved by a wrecker earlier this afternoon. No details have been released about the operator, no injuries were reported, and the THP is investigating.
