ROCKWOOD SECURES $100K DOWNTOWN GRANT AND $125K FOR TRAFFIC SIGNALS

The City of Rockwood, as announced by City Administrator Becky Ruppe, has been awarded a $100,000 Downtown Improvement Grant applied for in August, making it one of only 16 successful applicants. Ruppe confirmed in a release that a state grant administrator informed her the contract will arrive after the first of the year.
The grant allocates half ($50,000) to the city for improvements, such as at Homecoming Park, with a required 25% match of $12,500 if the full amount is used; the other half supports local businesses for streetscape enhancements, with matching funds covered by the businesses themselves upon council approval of their applications.
Additionally, Rockwood has secured a separate $125,000 grant with no matching requirement for traffic signal initialization.
