HARRIMAN AND ROANE COUNTY TO HONOR VETERANS WITH CEREMONIES TOMORROW
Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 11, marks Veterans Day nationwide, with several local events in the Harriman and Roane County areas honoring both living veterans and those who made the ultimate sacrifice.
The City of Harriman is sponsoring a Veterans Day parade starting at 10:00 a.m. from South Harriman Baptist Church, proceeding along Highway 27 through downtown, turning onto Emory Street, and concluding around 11:00 a.m. at David Webb Riverfront Park with a ceremony under the pavilion near the Court of Flags.
The park will feature hundreds of American flags displayed in the field beyond the pavilion, each bearing the names of past and present service members. The public is invited to line the parade route or attend the ceremony at the park.
Additionally, Roane County will host a celebration and reflection ceremony for veterans at Roane County Park. Various other Veterans Day ceremonies will take place throughout the East Tennessee region served by the station.
