ROANE COUNTY EXECUTIVE ASKS FOR PUBLIC INPUT ON I-40 / I-75 EXCHANGE
From Roane County Executive Wade Cresswell:
It is important to draw citizen attention to a current transportation study as it will be used to make planning decisions around the I-40/I-75 exchange. There are public meetings scheduled for tonight and tomorrow night. I’ll put details in comments. Materials presented at public meetings can be found on the web, and I’ll paste in the comments section the attached information that includes the link. That link will work once public meetings happen. They are accepting public comments through December 4th.
You are strongly encouraged to complete a survey about how you use the corridor. As our county has strong linkages to this corridor for commuters in and out of the county, it is important for Roane Countians to participate in this survey.
On Monday night, the Roane County Commission passed a resolution asking for the state’s urgent help to address a dramatic increase in traffic congestion on I-40 in Roane County. There have been 1,427 incidents on a 23 miles stretch of I-40 in Roane County so far this year that have caused some level of response! When planning the West Knox corridor, TDOT needs to take this information into account.
