MARYVILLE HIGH SCHOOL EVACUATED AFTER GAS LEAK DURING CONSTRUCTION
Maryville High School in Maryville, Tennessee, was evacuated Wednesday morning after a gas leak was detected during construction work. School officials confirmed that all students and staff were safely moved outside around 10:30 a.m. while emergency personnel assessed the situation, and no one was allowed to re-enter the building.
Students remained safe throughout the incident, and an early dismissal began at 11 a.m. Drivers were permitted to leave on their own, school buses were dispatched for pickup, and parents were directed to use the normal car rider line on Lawrence Avenue, where staff assisted in calling students from the evacuation area.
Principal Heather Hilton planned to send an email update that evening, and the school system expressed appreciation for everyone’s patience during the process.
