ROCKWOOD COMMUNITY CENTER REMAINS PARTIALLY CLOSED UNTIL AFTER DECEMBER
It appears now that the renovations at the Doug E. Wilson Rockwood Community Center will keep the center closed to the public in its full capacity until just after December, according to City Administrator Becky Rupe.
She did say that they are able to practice basketball for the city league teams at this time, but again, the full use of restrooms upstairs and those amenities are still not available. Paving of the front parking lot has been completed, and still some work in the back lot is to come.
The community center has undergone a complete remake of ADA compliance additions to the facility, which was built back in the seventies and was never officially ADA compliant. A grant has helped the city with all of the renovations.
