CROSSVILLE NURSE HONORED BY WATE 6 NEWS
In Knoxville, Tennessee, WATE 6 News is recognizing outstanding nurses in the region, spotlighting Sue Jasinski, a licensed practical nurse with over 25 years of experience at Crossville Medical Group. Jasinski began her career as a hospital volunteer at Cumberland Medical Center, where she immediately felt called to the profession.
She described her work in a long-term care facility during the COVID-19 pandemic as both the most challenging and rewarding time in her career, emphasizing that even when families couldn’t be present, nurses ensured patients felt cared for and loved. Nominated by longtime colleague Celeste Hope Stone, who has worked with her at both Cumberland Medical Center and Crossville Medical Group, Jasinski was praised as a “modern-day Florence Nightingale” who consistently goes above and beyond.
Stone noted that many patients choose their provider based solely on whether Jasinski will be their nurse, a testament to the deep trust and affection she inspires. Both women strongly encourage others to pursue nursing, describing it as one of the most rewarding careers because it allows professionals to make a meaningful difference during people’s happiest and most difficult moments.
6 News invites the community to nominate exceptional nurses for its Nurse of the Month feature, with previous honorees including Amy Thomas, Crystal Shipley, Megan Miller, and Shannon Day.
