The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a homicide which occurred on Monday, November 17, 2025 at 37 Dandy Rd, Signal Mountain, TN. The above identified victim, Mr. Huckabee, was shot and killed at this address during an altercation between him and a friend/acquaintance of his, Johnny Queen, according to witnesses. Mr. Queen fled the scene prior to the arrival of law enforcement, leading to a two-hour manhunt involving various law enforcement agencies.
Mr. Queen was eventually located on Big Fork Rd in Marion County, where he was subsequently shot and killed by law enforcement personnel. This incident is being investigated by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation and we will refer any questions about this incident to that agency.

Sheriff Bill Phillips will confirm that two Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office deputies were involved in the shooting and both have been placed on paid administrative leave. The Sequatchie County Sheriff’s Office is conducting an internal affairs investigation parallel to the criminal investigation, as is standard practice in these type incidents.
