TRAIN DERAILING IN ROANE COUNTY BLOCKS FURNACE AVENUE
The railroad crossing at Furnace Avenue in Rockwood, which leads to Black Hollow Road and Old Airport Road, has been blocked most of the day after several train cars from the Crab Orchard lime plant derailed.
The cars came off the track and left multiple cars straddling the crossing. Norfolk Southern crews and Lo-Hoist personnel have been on scene all day working to re-rail the cars and clear the blockage. No injuries were reported, and no hazardous materials were involved.
