ROCKWOOD FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO TRAILER FIRE ON CHAMBERLAIN AVENUE

Rockwood Fire Department officials were dispatched to the 800 block of North Chamberlain Avenue just before 10:00 a.m. today for a mobile home fire. Upon arrival, firefighters found the home heavily engulfed in smoke with flames visible from the rear portion. The Harriman Fire Department also responded to the scene under mutual aid.

Three occupants escaped unharmed. One resident, Destin Norton, told reporters he had been at the pharmacy when he was notified of the fire. He returned to find the home in flames and confirmed that his mother and girlfriend were able to get out safely before anyone was injured.

North Chamberlain Avenue between Tedder and Dunn streets was closed to through traffic during the incident. No injuries were reported in the Friday morning fire. The cause of the blaze remains under investigation, and the Red Cross has been notified to assist the family, who likely lost everything in the fire.
