LANE CLOSURES START TOMORROW ON I-40 EAST IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – Tennessee Department of Transportation (TDOT) maintenance crews will conduct pothole repairs on I-40 East in Cumberland County. Motorists should be aware of upcoming lane and shoulder closures at the following locations and times:
- Tuesday, December 9, 2025
A right lane and shoulder closure will be in place at mile marker 326.
Work hours: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM CST - Wednesday, December 10, 2025
A right lane and shoulder closure will be in place at mile marker 328.
Work hours: 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM CST
Drivers are urged to use caution in the work zones, reduce speed, and be alert for workers and equipment. Delays are possible, and alternate routes are encouraged when feasible.

Tennessee’s Move Over Law requires drivers to move over for highway workers and emergency vehicles. Violation of this law can result in up to 30 days in jail and a fine of up to $500.
