PUBLIC ASSISTANCE REQUESTED IN MONROE COUNTY ARSON CASE

From Sheriff Tommy Jones:
In the early morning hours of August 22, 2025, Monroe County Sheriff’s Office deputies and detectives responded to a camper fire at 137 Hooper Road in Tellico Plains. The camper was unoccupied, and no power was connected at the time of the fire.
The Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI) was notified and requested to assist. A special Agent from the TBI Bomb and Arson Unit responded to help with the investigation.
Lt. Detective Billy Littleton is asking for the public’s assistance. If you may have seen anything suspicious that morning or have any information related to this incident, you can remain anonymous by calling (423) 442-5002, extension 5, or by submitting a tip through the link below.
Your information could be valuable to both the victim and the State of Tennessee. You may also be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000.
