During the Cumberland County Commission meeting held on the evening of December 15, 2025, in Crossville, Tennessee, the commissioners unanimously approved Resolution 12-2025-2, sponsored by Commissioner Foster, to appoint Jeffrey Connors as the county’s new Veterans Services Officer. Following an extensive interview process, Connors was selected and presented for confirmation, marking a significant step in restoring the Veterans Services Office to its full staffing capacity after a period of understaffing.

The role of Veterans Services Officer is widely regarded as one of the most critical positions within county government, as it involves directly assisting veterans and their families with accessing essential benefits, claims processing, healthcare referrals, and other support services provided by federal, state, and local programs.

The resolution passed with a unanimous 17-0 vote.
