On December 14, 2025, at approximately 3:53 a.m., a 2025 Freightliner tractor-trailer, driven by 35-year-old Georginho Pierre of Florida with passenger 51-year-old John Polissiant also of Florida, was traveling westbound on Interstate 40 near mile marker 305 in Cumberland County, Tennessee.

The vehicle encountered ice on the roadway in lane 1, veered off the left side, struck an earth embankment, and jack-knifed, coming to final rest in the median facing south. Both the driver and passenger were wearing seat belts and sustained no injuries.

No charges were listed, and no other vehicles or individuals were involved in the incident.
