HARRIMAN CITY COUNCIL TO MEET THIS EVENING

The Harriman City Council will meet this evening in regular session, with a key agenda item being the possible appointment of someone to fill the unexpired term of former Councilman Brian Frost. Frost resigned several months ago amid significant public and media scrutiny following a deadly incident earlier this year at his business, Mr. Clean Car Wash and Window Tinting, where an altercation during a party resulted in the death of an 18-year-old from Lenoir City.
The meeting begins at 6:00 p.m. and will also include time to hear delegations and citizen comments, followed by reports from HUB, Harriman Housing, the Treasurer, City Attorney, and City Manager.
Under new business, the council will discuss and possibly approve a first reading of an ordinance amending the zoning map by rezoning property at 325 Fairchild Street from R-1 (Low Density Residential) to C-2 (General Commercial District); a resolution opposing the Roane County 4% occupancy tax increase; a first reading of an ordinance establishing grievance procedures to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 (ADA); permission for ROCO Social Restaurant to operate up to five billiard tables at 301 Roane Street; a resolution urging state intervention to address critical infrastructure and safety deficiencies on Interstate 40 in Roane County and state roads in Harriman; and the closure of city offices on Friday, December 26, 2025.
The Harriman City Council meets this at 6:00 p.m., and the public is always welcome to attend.
