44 POUNDS OF COCAINE SEIZED DURING I-40 TRAFFIC STOP IN KNOX COUNTY
In Knoxville, Tennessee, Knox County Sheriff’s Office narcotics detectives seized over 44 pounds of suspected cocaine during a routine traffic stop on Interstate 40 over the weekend. While inspecting commercial vehicles, detectives pulled over a tractor-trailer for speeding near the eastbound truck scales in west Knox County.
During the stop, officers noticed indicators of drug trafficking while speaking with the driver, and a K-9 unit alerted to the presence of narcotics. A subsequent search of the truck uncovered the large quantity of suspected cocaine, leading to the driver’s arrest on drug trafficking charges.
