HIDDEN VALLEY RANCH AMONG RECALLED DRESSINGS; PLASTIC CONTAMINATION
Ventura Foods LLC, based in Irvine, California, has voluntarily initiated a Class II recall of 3,556 cases of various salad dressings due to potential contamination with black plastic planting material found in the granulated onion ingredient.
The affected products include brands such as Monarch Italian Salad Dressing (1 gallon), Sysco Creamy Poblano Avocado Ranch Dressing and Dip (1 gallon), Ventura Caesar Dressing (2000 lb), Pepper Mill Regal Caesar Dressing (1 gallon), and others like Pepper Mill Creamy Caesar, Costco deli and food court Caesar dressings, and Hidden Valley Buttermilk Ranch, identified by specific lot codes including B29525, MFG101625H, P27525, H29025, various B28xxx/B29xxx for Costco, 03/04/2026 for Costco Food Court, and MFG102725H for Hidden Valley.
The recall, designated as FDA Event ID 97955 and Recall Number H-0235-2026, began on November 6, 2025, and remains ongoing as of December 2025, with products distributed to seven retail customers (including Costco and Publix) across 42 locations in 27 states: Kentucky, New Hampshire, South Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Minnesota, Michigan, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, North Carolina, Wisconsin, Nebraska, Virginia, Missouri, Louisiana, Pennsylvania, Indiana, Washington, Colorado, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Texas, Ohio, North Dakota, and Oregon, as well as one international customer.
A Class II recall indicates a low risk of serious health consequences, and no press release has been issued, with initial notifications sent via email to consignees.
