TWO ARRESTED IN CUMBERLAND COUNTY FOR ALLEGED RECKLESS DRIVING ON NEW YEAR’S

On January 1, 2026, in Cumberland County, Tennessee, deputies from the Sheriff’s Office made two separate arrests for reckless driving within the early morning hours.

In the first incident, around 1:08 a.m. on Sparta Highway in Crossville, Deputy Caleb Charles observed 25-year-old Braxton Westley Singer driving a red Ford F250, spinning its tires and creating a large smoke cloud at the Highland Square intersection, nearly striking another vehicle. Singer was stopped, taken into custody on-view, and charged with reckless driving, with a $1,500 bond and a court date set for February 9, 2026.

His vehicle was left at the scene for a parent to retrieve.

In the second incident, around 1:01 a.m. on Lantana Road, Deputy Breanna Freeman clocked 22-year-old Jace Allen Dyer driving a dark-colored car at 92 mph in a 55 mph zone. Dyer fled at high speed, turned off his lights, and attempted to enter his home on Lifelike Lane before being stopped. He admitted to excessive speed, was arrested on-view, transported for booking, and charged with reckless driving under the same statute, with a $1,500 bond and a court date of January 9, 2026.
