HOUSE FIRE SURVIVORS CALL THEIR SURVIVAL A MIRACLE WITH “GOD’S FINGERPRINTS ALL OVER IT”

On Saturday, January 3, 2026, a devastating flash fire rapidly destroyed the Crossville home of Trenton Glossenger, Autumn Feustel, and their six children around 2 a.m., consuming the house, vehicle, and all possessions in minutes and leaving the family of eight with only the clothes they wore as they temporarily sheltered in a hotel with Red Cross assistance.
Trenton awoke to the flames, alerting Autumn, who swiftly evacuated the children while he tried to fight the fire and grab essentials. He escaped unharmed but was blinded by smoke, shielded by a comforter, after the ceiling collapsed. No one was injured—a miracle that the family credits to divine intervention. They had practiced fire drills with assigned escape routes and roles.

Autumn Feustel shared in a heartfelt statement:

“I want to start off by saying this miracle has God’s fingerprints all over it! We are so blessed to still be here, all 8 of us together, after what happened. God gets all the glory… The type of fire it was, we never should have made it out safely and that’s how I know it was divine intervention… We lost everything materialistic but we are so rich with love and support and our family is together. We have the only things that truly mattered inside that house, each other.”
These objects were among the only ones to survive the blaze, more evidence to the family’s belief of God’s involvement.
She also emphasized safety.
“We practiced fire drills and knew our routes and our roles in getting the kids out safely and quickly, we knew where to go and which adults had which responsibilities. Trenton was trying to contain the fire so I could get the kids out and away from the house. Trenton was still inside when the ceilings were falling. He had to roll away from the fire and went into our room. Tried to grab phones and wallets but there was too much black smoke and he inhaled too much to stay inside. He threw a blanket over himself from our bed and ran through the fire in our dining room to get out. The fire never should have started as we did everything right, it was just a terrible thing that happened with no warning.”
She urged other families to “run the drills at home, map your routes and meet points… and never go back inside”.
The Crossville community has provided overwhelming support, including food, clothing, a new car with insurance, and ongoing donations through verified hubs like Express Towing, 2 Guyz Garage, and The CROSSvlle Boxing Club, plus monetary options via Cash App, Venmo, GoFundMe, or gift cards, allowing the family to focus on recovery amid profound gratitude.
