ROCKWOOD CITY COUNCIL MEETING TONIGHT AT 6

The agenda has been set for the City of Rockwood’s regular City Council meeting tonight at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.

The meeting will begin with prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance, followed by committee reports from council members, the financial report presented by City Administrator Becky Ruppe, and public comments. There is no old business scheduled.

Under new business, the council will consider an ordinance on first reading to amend the municipal code, updating fines, court costs, and fees for violations of the hands-free law in accordance with state mandates. Next, a resolution will authorize the mayor to sign a deed conveying a water line easement to the Board of Waterworks, Sewage, and Natural Gas. The council will also consider a resolution appointing Harold Eastman to the Airport Steering Committee. Eastman currently serves as the city’s building inspector under contract and is a former council member.

Under other business, the agenda includes approval to hire an employee for the golf course, approval of the airport terminal design, and acknowledgment of forthcoming airport minimum standards and emergency plan.

One final item: The city will hear from auditor JR Cates, who will present the audit results for fiscal year 2024-2025.

These are the key items on the City of Rockwood’s agenda for Monday, January 19, 2026, at 6:00 p.m.

Additionally, the council will meet in a special called session on Tuesday, January 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. to hear a grievance complaint from former K-9 police officer Charles Haubrick, who was fired in November for allegedly violating the city’s policies and procedures. We will have more details on that development next week.
